String theory is a means to explain the universe by combining two schools of physics: quantum mechanics and the theory of special relativity. To make these theories work together physicists have defined 7 dimensions in addition to the four that humans can perceive. Inspired by string theory, the series M-Theory focuses on the limits of human perception and on incomplete truths by utilizing a photograph's ability to extend and bend that perception. Photography can capture the previously unseen, exposing reality as well as distorting it. M-Theory juxtaposes movement and inertia to symbolize energy and matter, the two building blocks of physics. 7 photos, 7 dimensions.
